FAQ PHOTOGRAPHER

  • Whereaboutonline – what's in it for me?

Publish your whereabouts online. Editors can then contact you to give additional work while you are on a business journey already.

  • How do I access my account?

Whereaboutonline is a web-based platform. To access your account, you can use almost any computer around the world that has an internet connection and a browser.

  • What does Whereaboutonline cost?

The annual membership fee for photographers is EUR 130. So you only need one additional job to amortise the fee.

  • What happens when my annual membership expires?

We will ask you in due course to renew your membership. If you decide not to, your data and your profile will no longer be published. In other words: You have full control of your costs, and there is no need to actively terminate membership.

  • Who can see my whereabouts data?

Only editors who have registered with Whereaboutonline can see your data.

  • Are there any obligations for me once I've registered with Whereabout online?

No. Even if you do publish your whereabouts, you are not obliged to accept any further jobs. However we recommend to delete your whereabouts information if you are fully booked and cannot take on any further work.

  • Can I remove my whereabouts information from the web?

Yes. Every single whereabout entry can be edited or deleted. Simply click on the whereabout you wish to remove.

  • An editor has found me via Whereaboutonline to give me work. What happens now?

If the editor wants to contact you, he/she can do so by calling up your profile page. This page shows all the contact details you have cleared for publication. Communication then takes the conventional routes of email and telephone.

  • How will travel costs be shared?

The photographer and the editor decide between themselves on how to share travel costs.

  • How do I publish whereabouts for an entire region or a longer trip?

In case of smaller countries, you can simply indicate the country or a major city in the region. If you are on a more extensive journey, segment your route up into various whereabouts.

  • Can my agent manage my whereabouts for me?

Yes. If you have selected one or severeal (registered) agents on your profile page, they can administer your account with their own password, provided you have given them the confirmation to do so.

  • What is a favourite?

Editors can attribute stars to photographers and thereby select you as one of their favourites. This will help them to search more efficiently as favourite photographers show up first in a hit list. Favourite photographers are usually known to editors personally or photographers that editors work with on a regular basis.

  • How can I get more editors to select me as one of their favourites?

Inform all your editors about the fact that you have joined WHEREABOUTONLINE.COM (photo editors, art buying, magazines etc.) and ask them to select you as their favourite.
